The foundational and central point of the Scriptures is the death, burial and resurrection of Christ (1 Cor. 15:1-4).

If Christ is not risen then our faith and our Message is in vain (1 Cor. 15:14). Throughout the New Testament Epistles the concept of who we are IN CHRIST is taught over 130 times. Among those teachings we can discover 7 aspects of who we are IN CHRIST:

  1. We are CRUCIFIED with Christ
  2. We DIED with Christ
  3. We were BURIED with Christ
  4. We are MADE ALIVE with Christ
  5. We are RAISED with Christ
  6. We are SEATED with Christ
  7. We REIGN with Christ

What does this mean to us?

  • We have a new FAMILY
  • We have a new NATURE
  • We have a new IDENTITY’
  • We have a new AUTHORITY
  • We have new DESIRES

Everything we have received we have received because of who we are in Christ (2 Cor. 5:17-21; 1 Cor. 1:30). Apart from Him we can do nothing (Jn. 15:4, 7).

Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as CHRIST WAS RAISED FROM THE DEAD BY THE GLORY OF THE FATHER, even so we also should walk in newness of life.” (Rom. 6:4)

The purpose of Paul’s ministry and Message was to preach a Message that has been hidden throughout the ages for generations but is NOW revealed in His saints:

CHRIST IN US THE HOPE OF GLORY. (Col. 1:25-29)

The glory of God speaks of the:

  • PRESENCE OF GOD (Lev. 9:24; 2 Chr. 7:1-3; Hag. 2:7-9)
  • PURPOSE OF GOD (Is. 43:7)
  • POWER OF GOD (Jn. 11:40)

The same glory the Father gave Jesus, Jesus has given us (Jn. 17:22). We were created for His glory (Is. 43:7) and we have the glory of God in these jars of clay (2 Cor. 4:6-7), Christ in us the hope of glory (Col. 1:27). We are filled with the fullness of God (Jn. 1:16; Eph. 3:19). Therefore, He is able to do exceedingly more than we could ever ask or imagine according to His power (His glory) that is at work in us (Eph 3:20), the same glory that raised Christ from the dead (Eph. 1:20; Rom. 6:4).

“That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him,
the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the GLORY OF HIS INHERITANCE IN THE SAINTS, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power WHICH HE WORKED IN CHRIST WHEN HE RAISED HIM FROM THE DEAD and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places.” (Eph. 1:17-20)

“IF THEN YOU WERE RAISED WITH CHRIST, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.” (Col. 3:1-4)

Because Christ is in me. I can do all things through Christ Who gives me strength (Phi. 4:13). Therefore, I can:

  • BE who God wants me to BE.
  • GO where God wants me to GO.
  • SAY what God wants me to SAY.
  • DO what God wants me to DO.

Christ is living in me I have…

  • His PRESENCE
  • His PURPOSE
  • His POWER
  • His NATURE
  • His IDENTITY
  • His ANNOINTING
  • His AUTHORITY
  • His ABILITY

I can do all things through Christ Who strengthens me (Phi. 2:13) Christ in me the hope of glory (Col 1:27).

Amen.
